Orioles Park at Camden Yards
Camden Yards Sports Complex is part of a master site plan divided into two campuses, Orioles Park (the stadium) and the Warehouse. The stadium, in partnership with the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), has earned a LEED Gold level certification under the Existing Buildings, Operations and Maintenance (EB+OM) rating system.
Sustainability was a top goal in certifying the stadium, after the successful LEED Gold certification of M&T Bank Stadium. The installation of low-flow fixtures throughout the stadium achieved an overall water savings of 27%. A 46% energy reduction was met through off-site renewable energy systems, reducing the need to draw electricity from fossil fuel powered electrical plants. The stadium has also committed to reduce its waste by increasing the amount of recycling and trash receptacles with site separation throughout the complex. Having bins with visual separation encourages patrons to participate, enabling Oriole Park to reduce its overall waste.
Additionally, the Stadium has implemented a Green Cleaning Program, follows a sustainable purchasing policy, and has committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
