GREEN BUILDING SERVICES
Green Building Certification Services
Our expertise includes the International Green Construction Code (IgCC), LEED, Green Globes, the Living Building Challenge, Fitwel, WELL, Enterprise Green Communities and the National Green Building Standard (NGBS).
For Owners
Third party building certifications provide verified building performance metrics that contribute to operational cost savings. Different rating systems may address different building performance, environmental or social benefits. Each A rating system may impact staff well-being, cognitive performance and retention as well as presenting new marketing opportunities, enhancing brand image and expanding customer loyalty.
For Project Teams and Contractors
Doo Consulting removes the burden of certification project administration. Access to the latest updates and extensive project experience allows us to provide these services efficiently. Our diverse and professionally trained staff brings additional thought leadership to the project enhancing the team’s ability to explore cost effective solutions to meet project sustainability goals whether an IgCC code compliant building, a LEED certified building or a Living Building Challenge certification.
IAQ Testing Services
Doo Consulting provides Indoor Air Quality Testing for LEED and IgCC compliance. Upon verification of the mechanical system design, we provide recommended test locations, a project schedule and an estimate. Should your project choose to pursue this compliance path, Doo Consulting staff will collect the test samples and send them to our lab for analysis. We will complete the LEED Online template and upload the test results. Testing can save the project time and money depending on the situation.
ENTERPRISE GREEN COMMUNITIES
Enterprise Green Communities helps developers, investors, builders and policymakers make the transition to a green future for affordable housing. This Standard has been developed to bring the improved health, economic and environmental benefits of sustainable construction practices to low-income families.
FITWEL
Fitwel is a health and wellness standard for buildings developed by the General Services Administration and Centers for Disease Control. Its features are based on systematic research and data pertaining to health and productivity. It is aimed at helping facility managers and building owners evaluate many important operations and design factors that go into creating a healthy workplace, from proximity to public transit, walkability, bike parking, indoor air quality, healthy food access, and stairwell design.
WELL BUILDING
The WELL Building Standard® is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind. WELL is grounded in a body of medical research that explores the connection between the buildings where we spend more than 90 percent of our time, and the health and wellness of its occupants.
INTERNATIONAL GREEN CONSTRUCTION CODE
The IgCC is the first model code to include sustainability measures for the entire construction project and its site — from design through construction, certificate of occupancy and beyond. The new code contributes toward building efficiency, waste reduction, and improved health, safety and community welfare.
