Forest Park High School is part of a multi-million dollar plan to modernize Baltimore City schools. The project consisted of a full interior renovation of the existing 4-story classroom wing, a limited renovation of the existing cafeteria, auditorium, gym, media center and culinary arts lab & cafe, and two additions. The additions included a one-story, 2,200 SF cafeteria expansion and a two-story, 15,500 SF addition all to increase program spaces and accommodate the increased student population. A new central stairwell serves as a connector between the existing and new spaces. A secondary entrance with new student drop off for morning hours and evening performances was created at the junction between the addition and existing building, as well as access to the track and field.  The existing spaces all received major updates to the HVAC systems, pluming fixtures and building envelopes to meet the current codes.

The school sits on a 12.5 acre site. Site amenities include six micro-bioretention stormwater management facilities which also provide outdoor classroom learning opportunities, a hard-surface basketball court, improved parking facilities, service facilities, and a terraced outdoor learning space.  The grading design provided positive drainage away from the proposed buildings, and the building roof and site paved surfaces were directed into bioretention stormwater management facilities.
